Andover skincare maker Ziver Organiques has moved from market stalls to its first permanent shop, in the Chantry Centre, with coffee and £39 perfume workshops.

An Andover skincare brand that built its following on market stalls has opened its first permanent shop, in the Chantry Centre. Ziver Organiques cut the ribbon on Thursday 1 October, with the two borough councillors for Andover St Mary’s, Iris Andersen and Jan Budzynski.

The opening was announced by Test Valley Borough Council, which runs Andover’s markets.

From the kitchen to the Chantry Centre

The business was founded by Tuna Yoney, a cosmetic formulator. The council says he was born and raised in Cyprus and spent more than 20 years in finance before retraining in cosmetic science and skincare formulation.

He makes small batches of skincare, candles and home fragrance. Some products use upcycled ingredients. One is algae bio water, a by-product of drying seaweed, which he uses instead of distilled water to cut water use.

Many Andover shoppers will know the stall from the town’s Second Sundays market and other markets around Hampshire. The company itself is older than the shop: Ziver Organiques Limited was incorporated on 17 August 2020, with a registered office in Andover.

“Ziver Organiques began with me making products at home, and meeting customers at markets helped turn that idea into a business,” Mr Yoney said in the council’s announcement. “I want the shop to be a welcoming place to discover our products, enjoy a coffee and get creative at a workshop.”

Cllr Budzynski said markets give independent traders a place “to test new ideas, meet customers and grow their profile”, and called the shop “exactly the kind of business success story we love to see”.

What is in the shop

According to the council and the company’s own website:

  • skincare, including facial serums from £18 and rosehip seed oil at £8
  • lip care
  • scented candles and home fragrance, with candles listed at £16
  • gifts
  • coffee, which Mr Yoney mentions in the council’s announcement
  • workshops, starting with a perfume-making session at £39

Prices are as listed online on 5 October; check in the shop.

What it means for you

Andover has a new independent shop in the town centre. Opening hours are not yet published online, so check before a special trip. If you have bought from the market stall, you no longer have to wait for the second Sunday of the month.

The workshops are the new part. The perfume-making session is the only one listed so far; the council says the shop will host “a programme of workshops and experiences”.

Andover’s next market dates and other weekend events are on our things to do in Andover page, and the month’s listings are in what’s on in Andover.
